A great star of Italian cinema, she was born in Subiaco on July 4, 1927, making her 95 years old. Gina Lollobrigida was an Italian actress, an icon of beauty and charm during the 1950s and 1960s.

Her film debut came in 1947 with the movie La Provinciale. She then went on to act in many Italian and international films, becoming one of the most famous Italian stars of her time. Among her most famous films are Beautiful But Dangerous, The Most Beautiful Woman in the World, and La Strada by Federico Fellini, for which she received an Oscar nomination.

Lollobrigida was also very active as a photographer, having held numerous photography exhibitions. In addition, she worked as a sculptor and showcased her works in various exhibitions.

Throughout her career, Lollobrigida received numerous awards and recognitions for her work, including the French Legion of Honor and the Italian Cinema Star Award. In 2011, she was appointed a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF.

In the spring of 1947, she participated in the Miss Rome contest, finishing second. Her popularity was such that she was invited to Stresa for the Miss Italy finals, where she placed third behind Lucia Bosè and Gianna Maria Canale, future cinema stars like her. That same year, Eleonora Rossi Drago (excluded due to already being married) and Silvana Mangano, both of whom later became famous actresses, also took part in the competition.

Gina Lollobrigida has passed away, leaving behind an iconic legacy in Italian cinema. Rest in peace, Gina.
