History
The Hollywood Vampires were born in 1972 in Los Angeles, on the Sunset Strip, in an upstairs bar of a club called the Rainbow Bar and Grill. That club was a hangout for rock stars living in or passing through the California city.
“To get into the club, you just had to drink more than all the other members. On a normal night, I could stroll in and find John Lennon, Harry Nilsson, Keith Moon, dressed as usual as a waitress or chauffeur. The following week, Bernie Taupin, Jim Morrison, and Micky Dolenz could be there.”
The main members of the club included Alice Cooper, Keith Moon, Ringo Starr, Micky Dolenz, and Harry Nilsson.
In 2015, Alice Cooper formed a supergroup in honor of the club with Johnny Depp and Joe Perry. The band released their debut album, Hollywood Vampires, in September of that same year.
