Alien Saga

PLOT

Alien is an American media franchise inspired by a popular film series consisting of a tetralogy.
It is set between the 21st and 24th centuries.

The main protagonist of the saga is Ellen Ripley, played by actress Sigourney Weaver in all four films from 1979 to 1997.

Ripley is caught in a conflict with the fictional Weyland-Yutani Corporation, which aims to transport specimens of a hostile alien species known as Xenomorphs to Earth.

FUN FACTS

  • To create the tendons of the beast’s fierce jaws, cut-up condoms were used.

The alien’s drool was made using K-Y Jelly, a sexual lubricant.
All very suggestive? Simply practical and inexpensive.

  • To make the cat Jones (played by four different cats) react fearfully to the arrival of the Alien, a German Shepherd was placed in front of it, separated by a screen.

The cat couldn’t see the dog, and when the screen was suddenly removed, Jones’s reaction is the one we see in the film!

  • The producers of *It! The Terror from Beyond Space*, a 1958 film, considered suing the production of *Alien* for plagiarism.

In the end, they decided against it, though some similarities remain undeniable.
