American Murder

The Netflix series American Murder is a documentary that tells the story of the crime committed by Chris Watts in 2018.

Watts, a man from Colorado, killed his wife Shanann and their daughters, Bella and Celeste, aged three and four, hiding their bodies in an industrial property.

The series, consisting of a single episode of about an hour and a half, is based on official documents, security footage, and interviews with people involved in the case, such as friends, family members, and investigators.

American Murder offers a detailed and shocking insight into the events that led to the crime and the life of the family before the tragedy.

The series begins by showing the seemingly happy and normal life of the Watts family, with Chris working as a factory worker and Shanann taking care of the house and the children.

However, signs of tension in the couple soon emerge, such as Chris’s difficulty in finding work and his desire for a different life.

Throughout the series, messages and videos that Shanann had sent to Chris and her friends before her disappearance are shown, in which she spoke about her fears and the challenges she was facing.

The series then follows the police investigations and the discovery of the bodies of his wife and daughters, as well as Chris Watts’s arrest and trial.

The series has been highly praised by both the public and critics for its ability to tell a tragic and shocking story in an accurate and respectful manner, without falling into sensationalism.

If you are a true crime enthusiast or simply want to watch a series that will keep you on the edge of your seat, I highly recommend watching American Murder.
