Jamie Lee Curtis Tribute

Jamie Lee Curtis (Los Angeles, November 22, 1958) is an American actress. She is the daughter of the famous actors Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh.

At 18, she made her first television appearances in the series Operation Petticoat.

In the late ’70s, we find her in episodes of popular TV shows, well-known in Italy too, such as Charlie’s Angels, Columbo, and Love Boat.

Her big success on the big screen came soon after, when director John Carpenter cast her in Halloween in 1978 and The Fog in 1980.

She then starred in another thriller: Prom Night, also in 1980.

Her talent was further confirmed with the dramatic role in Blue Steel in 1990, where director Kathryn Bigelow cast her as a policewoman protagonist in a violent and gripping action story.

The actress seemed destined to establish herself as a horror or thriller star until the hilarious A Fish Called Wanda.

Jamie Lee Curtis revealed herself as a versatile performer, showing off great charisma, notable irony, and sex appeal.

These qualities had already been appreciated in the comedy Trading Places in 1983 and were brilliantly confirmed in the wild True Lies in 1994, where she starred alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Other notable titles include Forever Young in 1992, with Mel Gibson and Elijah Wood, Fierce Creatures in 1997, with Kevin Kline, Virus in 1998, with William Baldwin, and The Tailor of Panama in 2001, with Pierce Brosnan.

In 2015, she was cast in the lead role of Cathy Munsch in the new horror-comedy series Scream Queens by Ryan Murphy and was later confirmed for the second season in 2016.

Sticking with the horror genre that propelled her to success, we must mention the films Halloween H20: 20 Years Later in 1998 and Halloween: Resurrection in 2002.

But most importantly, the revival of the Halloween saga with Halloween in 2018, the direct sequel to the first film, and Halloween Kills in 2021.

A special mention also goes to the mystery film Knives Out in 2019.
