Melzo (Milan), May 27, 2022 – Melzo Kills Mother and Dismembers Her.
Intentional homicide, desecration, and concealment of a corpse.
These are the charges against R.F., the 58-year-old daughter who has been detained for allegedly killing and dismembering her mother, L.C., in the apartment on Via Boves in Melzo, in the province of Milan. The measure issued by the on-duty prosecutor came overnight after investigators questioned the 58-year-old and the other two daughters of the victim. However, according to investigators, R.F. reportedly said nothing after her outburst yesterday with her sister and after the military arrived, before which she repeatedly stated that she had “made a disaster.”
The Murder
R.F. was the only one of the three daughters of the 84-year-old to take care of her mother and had the keys to her house. The younger sisters, one residing in Melzo like the victim and the other in Trento, had not seen their mother for months. According to investigations, it seems that the murder was committed two months ago, between the end of March and the beginning of April. On the day of the crime, the accused may have accompanied her mother to the bathroom and then covered her mouth with duct tape before sealing the tub with a cloth, ultimately causing death by asphyxiation. The woman allegedly used a saw, found and seized by the carabinieri of Milan, to dissect the corpse in multiple parts. The victim’s body, in an advanced state of decomposition, will be analyzed by forensic doctors and an anthropologist to confirm the cause of death and when it occurred. The suspicions of the carabinieri from the investigative unit of the Moscova command, working together with their colleagues from Pioltello and Melzo, immediately focused on family matters. And so did those of the prosecutor’s office. In particular, they focused on the daughter, the eldest, who lives a handful of kilometers from her mother in Mediglia and who had always taken care of her over the years, following her and keeping an eye on her. The elderly woman lived alone, was self-sufficient, but had recently begun to have mobility issues and early-stage senile dementia. This deterioration could have weighed on the daughter’s caregiving dynamic toward her mother that had been established over the years. In any case, the significant attempts at misdirection that the 58-year-old had been carrying out for weeks regarding the other sister, who was searching for their mother and could not find her, are notable.
