A Saw saga filled with tension and plot twists.
The now iconic phrase, “Most people are so ungrateful to be alive, but not you. Not anymore. Game over,” leaves no doubt about what will be shown throughout all chapters of the saga.
Be careful about accepting games, especially if offered by shady characters! In this video, we show some “games” from the Saw saga, created by James Wan and Leigh Whannell in 2004. “I want to play a game with you” no longer means the same thing…
From the very first chapter, we are faced with a psychopathic serial killer who forces his victims to participate in absurd games, where their lives are at stake.
With a strong Horror/Splatter component, we witness self-mutilation, cleverly designed automatic mechanisms where the sole objective is to save your own life.
CURIOSITIES
- *Saw – The Jigsaw* contains many references to past films. Several of them refer to Italian giallo and horror films by Dario Argento. The painted puppet is a reference to Argento’s *Deep Red* (1975), while the invisible killer’s black gloves, one of Argento’s trademarks, can be seen several times in the movie.
- The Saw saga was born from the idea of James Wan and Leigh Whannell. The two filmmakers wanted to make a film after finishing film school, but with no money or financiers, they could only afford a single room. So, they decided to take a chance and try to make a movie that could be filmed in just one room. *Saw – The Jigsaw* was the product of this work, and it has been considered one of the most prolific and successful films in the entire horror movie category of all time.
