The American actor passed away at 61, after suffering from an aneurysm. The sad news was announced by his manager, Charles Lago: “It is with great sorrow and regret that I have to announce that actor Thomas Edward Sizemore, aged 61, passed away peacefully in his sleep today at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Burbank. His brother Paul and his 17-year-old twins, Jayden and Jagger, were by his side.” The talented 61-year-old actor had suffered a brain aneurysm in February: “On Monday,” Lago said, “the doctors informed his family that there was no longer any hope, recommending end-of-life decisions.”

Born in Detroit on November 29, 1961, Sizemore moved to New York City in the 1980s to pursue acting. One of his first credits came in 1989 with an appearance in Oliver Stone’s Best Picture-nominated film Born on the Fourth of July.

Known for playing tough characters, he became famous in the 1990s with films like Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man, Passenger 57, True Romance, and Natural Born Killers. His big break came in Steven Spielberg’s 1998 war film Saving Private Ryan, in which he played Technical Sergeant Mike Horvath. Saving Private Ryan earned a Best Picture nomination at the Academy Awards. Alongside his co-stars, including Tom Hanks and Matt Damon, Sizemore received a Screen Actors Guild nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. Over his career, Sizemore worked with directors such as Michael Mann, Martin Scorsese, Peter Hyams, Carl Franklin, Oliver Stone, Ridley Scott, and Michael Bay.
