“It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of actress Shannen Doherty,” stated Leslie Sloane, the actress’s publicist, exclusively to People. “On Saturday, July 13, she lost her battle with cancer after many years of fighting the disease.”

Shannen Doherty was an American actress born on April 12, 1971, in Memphis, Tennessee. She is best known for her roles in popular ’90s television series.
Considered a ’90s icon, thanks to her roles in TV series that defined an entire generation, her image and style influenced the fashion and pop culture of that decade.
Shannen portrayed Brenda Walsh, one of the main characters in the series. This role made her internationally famous and helped define her career.
From 1998 to 2001, she played Prue Halliwell, one of the three leading sisters in the series Charmed. This role also had a significant impact on her popularity.
Shannen began her career at a young age, with appearances in series like “Little House on the Prairie” and “Our House.” She also appeared in various films and TV shows, including the cult film “Heathers” in 1988.
