– The production initially scouted several homes as potential filming locations but ultimately decided to build the two-story house from scratch.
– The production team also constructed a 15-meter tree for the film.

– The Perron family lived in the haunted house for ten years.

– The Conjuring was previously titled The Warren Files.

– The Catholic Church used the Warrens’ investigation to determine if the paranormal event was supernatural or even demonic. If the investigation revealed a demonic nature, the Church would become actively involved.

– The real Ed Warren, who passed away in 2006, was not only a demonologist but also a Navy veteran and a painter.

– Cast and crew witnessed strange events during filming, such as scratches appearing on Vera Farmiga’s computer after signing on for the film, people inexplicably waking up between 3 and 4 a.m. (“the witching hour”), and the real Carolyn Perron breaking her hip after falling while her family visited the set.
