- After filming, Johnny Depp adopted Goldeneye, the one-eyed Andalusian horse that belongs to the legendary Ichabod Crane in Tim Burton’s film.
- The film was initially directed by Kevin Yagher; later, the project was handed over to Tim Burton, and Yagher became a co-producer.
- Liam Neeson, Brad Pitt, and Daniel Day-Lewis were considered for the role of Ichabod Crane, which ultimately went to Johnny Depp.
- Winona Ryder was offered the role of Katrina Van Tassel, the female lead. The role eventually went to Christina Ricci.
