WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO BABY JANE?

In 1917, Jane Hudson is a child star whose beauty and singing talent lead her to perform in many U.S. theaters, accompanied by her father as a pianist and manager. Her success is enormous, with a porcelain doll even created in her likeness, Baby Jane Hudson. However, fame quickly goes to Jane’s head, turning her into a spoiled, despotic, and capricious star who mistreats everyone, especially her shy older sister, Blanche.

As Jane grows older, she loses her charm and falls out of favor with audiences, leading to a series of failures that push her towards alcoholism, psychological problems, and the end of her career. Blanche, on the other hand, becomes one of the most talented, acclaimed, and highest-paid actresses in Hollywood during the 1930s. This sparks envy and jealousy in Jane until Blanche ends up paralyzed in a wheelchair after an unclear accident.

The two sisters continue their troubled relationship well into their old age. The film stars two Hollywood legends: Bette Davis and Joan Crawford, who famously despised each other in real life.

A true cult classic that showcases the exceptional acting skills of these two iconic actresses.

Trivia: Did you know that the rivalry between these two actresses had escalated into literal hatred?
